Position: MERCHANDISING TECHNICIAN

Scale/Grade: P0:02
Salary Range: $15.03 - $18.79/per hour
Status: Casual (22.5 hrs per week)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an integral member of the Retail Pharmacy, the MERCHANDISING TECHNICIAN - Pharmacy Services is responsible for maintaining responsibility for ordering, receiving, and pricing prescription and non-prescription items for multi-site retail pharmacies; performs merchandising functions; organizing revenue-generating promotions to attract customer interest; coordinating the return of stale-dated medication; communicating with other Pharmacy personnel; performing technical functions in support of the Pharmacy; performing cross-functional duties, within scope of authority; performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
·Grade 12 or recognized equivalent
·Successful completion of a recognized Pharmacy Assistant program or recognized equivalent
·One (1) year related merchandising experience
·One (1) year of Shoppers Drug Mart experience
·Very Good verbal and written communication skills
·Very Good interpersonal skills
·Very good organizational and time management skills
·Knowledge of Pharmacy operations, practices and regulations
·Knowledge of applicable legislation i.e. Health Professions Regulations Act, etc.
·Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (W.H.M.I.S.) requirements
·Compliance with established confidentiality requirements
·Satisfactory attendance
PREFERRED:
·Six months technical experience in a retail/community Pharmacy
