Position: REGISTERED DIETITIAN

Scale/Grade: D0 07
Salary Range: $34.83 - $40.98 per hour ($40.98 midpoint and suggested maximum hiring rate)
Commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN Compensation Policy
Hours: 4 DAYS PER WEEK (WEEKDAYS MON - FRI) 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Status: PERMANENT PART-TIME
As an integral part of the multi-disciplinary Eating Disorder Modified Assertive Community Treatment team, the REGISTERED DIETITIAN assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the factors which influence the nutritional status of patients and uses these factors in the development of the nutrition care plan. Communicates and works closely with other team members to practice a client centered therapeutic approach which involves visiting patients in their homes or community and working on client-centered goals focused on improving quality of life. Day to day responsibilities may include: participating in team assessments; supporting patients and staff with guidelines for meals; working toward nutrition goals that improve client health and are acceptable to the client; visiting clients in their homes or the community; providing life skills support to clients who have a variety of mental health concerns.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Successful completion of a Baccalaureate of Science degree program major in Foods and Nutrition from an accredited University, or recognized equivalent
- Successful completion of a dietetic internship program accredited by Dietitians of Canada
- Registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
- Membership with Dietitians of Canada
- Related experience is an asset
- Experience working with mental health population required
- Experience in eating disorders is preferred
- Ability to work in a non-judgemental way with ill clients
- Counselling skills are an asset
- Ability to be flexible and perform a variety of tasks
- Ability to travel by TTC to client homes or community locations
- Ability to function both independently and as a team member
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational, time management and problem solving skills
- Strong decision-making and leadership abilities
- Knowledge of food preparation and food allergies
- Knowledge of Body Substance Precaution provisions
- Ability to adapt to a wide variety of patient populations and needs
- Ability to extract very detailed information to make informed decisions
- Broad-based knowledge and versatility
- Computer proficiency preferred
