Addiction & Mental Health Clinician, Team Lead - Toronto, Ontario


Job Title: Team Lead/Clinician, Addiction & Mental Health
Department: Community Mental Health
Reports to: Manager
Hours: 37.5 hours per week   Days
Status: Permanent full-time

As a member of the Addictions & Community Mental Health team, the Team Lead/Clinician will be accountable to the Program Manager for both clinical and administrative tasks.  The administrative tasks will include the supervision of the day-to-day delivery of quality care and the overall daily staff department.  Provide regular supervision and support to specified staff that will include monitoring of attendance, workloads, clinical practice and the allocation of tasks to relevant staff, monitoring the team’s contribution to the overall goals and objectives of the program.  Seventy percent of the time will be devoted to direct clinical patient care, with the remaining thirty percent for administrative duties; performing other duties consistent with the classification, as required.


  • At minimum, completion of a Master’s degree in Health Sciences (Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy) or recognized equivalent
  • Second language (especially, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish and Cantonese) preferred
  • Knowledge of community resources pertinent to consumers of mental health system
  • Knowledge of mental health policies, legislation (i.e. Occupational Health and Safety Act, Mental Health Act) and other relevant legislation
  • At minimum, 3 years practical and related experience
  • 1 year supervisory experience
  • Current experience working in community-based psychiatry
  • Experience in substance abuse treatment
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment
