Position:  HAND THERAPIST – Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist
Site: TORONTO WESTERN HOSPITAL
Department: ALLIED HEALTH
Reports to: MANAGER
Hours:  various hours/shifts as required Weekdays
Status:  Casual

JOB SUMMARY:

As an integral member of Allied Health and the Hand Program, the Hand Therapist is responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients in the Hand Therapy Program at the Toronto Western Hospital.  The Hand Therapist participates in meetings at the service, department, Allied Health and UHN level as required; participates in quality activities as required; provides education to patients, families, students and to other members of the interdisciplinary team; and participates in research activities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At minimum, successful completion of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with the College of Physiotherapists or Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience with musculoskeletal disorders
  • Experience in the assessment and treatment of Hands strongly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrates appropriate and effective written, oral, and nonverbal communication skills
  • Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job
  • Membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy Association preferred
