We employ a wide range of occupations from engineers, underground miners and supervisors in Thompson, Sudbury and Voisey’s Bay, to our R&D team from our world class Technology Centre in Mississauga.
Our engineers and scientists are key to Vale's future in everything from finding new ore bodies to continually improving the performance of our mines and surface plants. We offer opportunities to work cooperatively with processing plant and mining personnel to optimize process and equipment operation. Our well established Engineer in Training (EIT) program provides guidance and mentoring of graduates, plus the experience needed to quickly acquire Professional Engineering standing. Vale employs EITs in a variety of engineering disciplines across Canada in Thompson, Manitoba; Sudbury, Mississauga and Port Colborne, Ontario; and Voisey’s Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador. These include:
-Chemical / Metallurgical Engineers
-Civil Engineers
-Electrical Engineers
-Environmental Engineers/Scientists
-Mechanical Engineers
-Geological Engineers
-Mining Engineers
Successful candidates will have:
-An Engineering Degree
-Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
-Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to work independently and within a team
-Self motivation and the desire to learn new skills
-Fluency in English; Additional languages an asset
-Eligibility to legally work in Canada
-Ability to register as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in the applicable province
-Preference will be given to candidates who express an interest in our multiple locations
