Wittington Investments, Limited (WIL) is a privately held organization with strategic investments in the international retailing, food processing and real estate sectors.  The company is chaired by W. Galen Weston and privately owned by the Weston family.  WIL maintains a controlling interest in George Weston Limited (TSX: WN); a publicly traded Canadian corporation with Loblaw Companies Limited (TSX: L) being its primary investment.  Internationally, WIL owns a luxury retailing organization named Selfridges Group, Limited which operates throughout the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Ireland and Canada.WIL is seeking a Real Estate Investment Analyst to support a growing Treasury & Investments team with expanding responsibilities and mandate. Reporting to the Manager, Treasury and Investments, the Real Estate Investment Analyst will play a key role in supporting the team with financial analysis, reporting and delivering project updates as it relates to group real estate initiatives. The Analyst will be accountable for modelling economics, performing financial analysis of development initiatives, analyzing investment performance of capital projects and updating the team on real estate market developments. The Analyst will support due diligence and modelling valuation for real estate investments efforts as necessary. The required skill set is akin to a junior investment banking role.


  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to assess real estate capital projects, cash flows, development initiatives and investment returns.
  • Prepare formal presentations and recommendations for senior management.
  • Monitor and research real estate market developments continuously.
  • Build relationships with operating subsidiaries and provide financial analysis support as necessary.
  • Special projects as assigned.
  • University degree in Business/Economics/Mathematics or related field.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in an Investment Banking like environment or equivalent role.
  • Exceptionally strong financial modelling, analytical, problem-solving and presentation skills.
  • Advanced MS Office skills – Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook. 
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to liaise with all levels of management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, pursue initiatives to completion and on time.
  • Excellent team player with project management capabilities.
  • Seeks continuous improvements and efficiencies in work flows.
  • Highly organized and efficient, ability to work independently and manage both workload and deliverables.
