Role Purpose Reporting to the Vice President and Treasurer, this position will play a leadership role in the Treasury Team and will own and be responsible for the hedging program, liquidity management, , cash management, treasury operations, foreign exchange, bank KYC process, LIBOR Transition and transactional bank relationship management. The incumbent will also provide support in other corporate treasury areas as required.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage strategic relationships with the bank’s global account managers in cash management and Foreign Exchange teams to support departmental goals.
Liaise and partner with internal business partners including Accounting, FP&A and Tax teams.
Responsible for developing and managing hedging plan involving C$150M of FX exposure
Manage and balance total debt portfolio of C$300M to optimize interest expense.
Review monthly cash and debt balances across legal entities and recommend strategies to repatriate cash and optimize debt structure
Manage and coordinate KYC process and increased disclosure requirements
Identify ways to improve productivity and efficiency, while also utilizing relevant internal technology to efficiently manage cash needs and deliverables.
Coordinate global electronic payments for large transactions (>$300k) such as for capital contributions and M&A transactions (multimillion dollar impact).
Provide oversight and support in corporate cash management and banking.
Enhance, maintain, and run the company's liquidity tools (cash flow forecast, cash balances, liquidity metrics).
Develop and implement central vendor and customer masters in the ERP and build in fraud controls
Represent Treasury in M&A activities and support valuation and other analysis
Coordinate Due Diligence in M&A activities
Evaluate bank fees to ensure alignment to service agreements
Coordinate and complete year-end audit requirements.
Manage portfolio of Treasury projects and work towards accomplishing department and company strategic objectives.
Assist in development of corporate policies and processes.
Mentor & train new junior staff and other new hires.
Qualifications
Post-Secondary Degree with emphasis on Business Administration / Accounting (MBA/CFA preferred).
Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) Preferred.
5-7 years of experience in a Treasury environment.
Strategic thinker able to manage multiple priorities. Demonstrated ability to forecast issues and make recommendations.
Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Detail oriented with focus on accuracy.
Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Cash Management, Banking, Hedging and Insurance experience.
Ability to perform well within a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
Demonstrated experience with and understanding of financial institutions and banking systems.
Excellent organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues and business partners.
Manufacturing financial experience would be an asset.
