POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate Release Manager is responsible for the overall coordination and quality of the deployment process. They will own the Release Management lifecycle, which includes scheduling and coordinating releases across the enterprise for multiple product applications. The Associate Release Manager provides tools and services to help project teams manage and deploy releases into production.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop common strategies for quality and release governance across multiple teams and governance is understood.
  • Provides final authorization for the release.
  • Identify opportunities for greater efficiency and communicate ideas and plans for continuous improvement.
  • Continually work towards making improvements in the release process through regular Retrospectives.
  • Exhibits a high level of personal ownership over the release processes
  • Facilitate cross-team coordination of release management functions.
  • Conducts release readiness reviews.
  • Develop yearly release calendar working closely with IT managers
  • Create common standards and formats for the release process and work with management to standardize release decision-making.
  • Define common mechanisms for rollback and standards for capturing release-related performance indicators.
  • Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the PMO.
  • Measure release cadence and effectiveness using common metrics across all releases
  • Maintains a release repository and manages key information such as release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists
  • Inform management of exposure to release risk and effectively mitigate it.
  • Manages and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality.
  • Assesses, plans, and manages risk and contingency tactics, anticipating and resolving issues before they escalate.
  • Considers how deployments could be completed faster or more efficiently with higher quality.
  • Responsible for following through with appropriate team members while requiring little supervision.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • BA or BS or equivalent experience is required.
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical role.
  • Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with enterprise-level application development projects. 
  • Prefer experience in the healthcare industry.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels.
  • Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view.
  • Ability to lead software development projects and ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met.
  • Solid understanding of and experience in using appropriate tools:
    • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
    • Agile Project Management tools such as Azure DevOps Services, Jira, Rally, VersionOne or equivalent
    • VSTS
  • Has exceptional time management skills
