POSITION SUMMARY:

The Business Analyst position will report to the Platform Manager and is responsible for reviewing, analyzing and evaluating business systems and user needs. This position involves high-level involvement and consultative work to all departments using Salesforce within HealthStream. The Business Analyst must be able to document requirements, define scope and objectives, and formulate systems to meet business strategies. This position requires self-motivation, a strong analytical mindset, comfort when working with teams and communicating with various levels of management - strong communication and analytical skills are a must. The applicant must have a solid understanding of Salesforce concepts and technologies, and exceptional project management skills. The applicant should have a proven track record of using Salesforce in a sophisticated business environment. This position will consult on special projects involving Salesforce integration, and play a key role in making sure new processes and applications work correctly. They will also be expected to offer appropriate automation and improved business processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats
• Construct solutions and provide workflow charts, diagrams, written specifications as needed
• Study current practices and help design modifications for improvement
• Define project requirements; identify and resolve problems; recommend actions and improved procedures
• Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
• Conduct and coordinate financial, product, market, operational and related research to support strategic and business planning within the various departments
• Interpret, evaluate and interrelate research data and develop integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decision-making
• Understand and communicate the operational impact of any changes
• Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support your recommendations. Actively participate in the implementation of approved changes
• Provide support to all HSTM Salesforce users, and triage requests and customizations to the database
• Create and improve business processes for departments using Salesforce
• Design cohesive project strategies and ensure effective collaboration throughout all phases of development, testing and deployment
• Develop scenarios and processes to prevent data duplication and cleanse data on a regular schedule
• Develop and maintain documentation around business processes and provide guides and manuals for users
• Maximize the use of the database company-wide


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

A. KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• BS or BA degree recommended
• 2-5 years of associated work experience
• Advanced SQL database management and maintenance skills

B. SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Excellent communication skills – including oral, written & presentation
• Detailed analytical skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and technical aptitude
• Strong experience in user testing and project management
