Position Status:Intern

POSITION SUMMARY 

The Communications Intern position is a full-time summer internship opportunity within the Communications & Investor Relations Department at HealthStream. The Communications Intern will be expected to assist in internal and external communications projects and initiatives as needed. Some of those responsibilities may include assistance with internal communications, intranet writing and production, press release writing and research, media monitoring and tracking, social media, record-keeping, planning and executing events, and a variety of other projects.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES – 

Assist with the daily operations and upkeep of the Investor Relations department. Tasks may include, but are not limited to:

  • File, sort, and reorganize Investor Relations documents
  • Conduct Investor Relations research on a variety of topics
  • Assist with the reorganization of network folders
  • Collaborate with team on new ideas for corporate communications

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

 A. KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Undergraduate or Master level student in Communications and/or Business areas.
  • Healthcare experience preferred, but not required
  • HTML knowledge is preferred, but not required
  • Previous internship experience is preferred, but not required

B. SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Outstanding writing ability. The ideal candidate should be able to write accurately, quickly, and with a tone that’s adaptive to target audiences.
  • Strong ability to learn and use numerous online applications proficiently.
  • Must be able to research a wide variety of topics and have the ability to critically assess the information for potential use in written documents
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

C. ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Strong sense of initiative is required; must be a “self-starter”
  • Multiple tasks must be addressed, concurrently, in this position
  • Coordinating with others across other departments is important
  • The ability to meet stringent deadlines is mandatory.
  • Working as a team member is essential.
  • Outstanding verbal skills
