POSITION SUMMARY:

The BI Developer will be working with the latest Microsoft SQL Server technologies and involved in most aspects of HealthStream BI platform development. Under the guidance and supervision of the Technology Services manager, this person will part of the team responsible for the data warehouse including ETL development, data modeling, analysis, and reporting. Experience in data warehousing concepts/architecture and all area of the SQL Server BI Stack will be needed for this position.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and development of enterprise ready BI solutions

Data warehouse design, development, support and performance tuning

Development, support and performance tuning of ETL processes related to data warehouse loads

Report development using Tableau and/or SSRS

Participate in the on-call rotation to troubleshoot and resolve database issues

Investigate and resolve data issues as needed.

Must be methodical and able to establish priorities

Must be able to recognize confidential data issues and maintain this confidentiality.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

 

A. KNOWLEDGE/ EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

4 year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field (required)

Three or more years designing and developing Microsoft SQL Server OLTP and OLAP solutions

One or more years of experience developing SSAS solutions for reporting and analytics. SQL Server 2012 SSAS Tabular or In-Memory experience would be a plus

Two or more years of experience developing well performing ETL solutions using SSIS or other ETL tools.

Two or more years of experience developing reports using SSRS. Tableau experience a plus.

One or more years of experience with VB.Net/C# .Net development, specifically WEB API’s and MVC development.

Strong T/SQL, MDX/DAX experience

Hadoop and/or Linux experience would be a huge plus

Seasoned in the full product development life cycle including requirements gathering

Experience developing and supporting mission critical applications that function 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

C. ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Fundamental understanding of standard data warehousing concepts and architecture . Must have extensive knowledge indexed views, and partitioning strategies.

Good understanding of data visualization techniques and previous experience building dashboards is required. Any familiarity with ASP.NET MVC and

API applications would be a plus.
