Our Intensive Care Units:

Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) 

Level 3 Closed Intensive Care Unit. We are a 21 bed unit, with the capacity to surge up to 24 beds within our own space. We have a CCOT Rapid Response Team and serve a diverse population of critical cardiac, surgical, medical and respiratory patients. We operate on a self-scheduling basis.

Milton District Hospital (MDH)

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Milton District Hospital provides both Intensive Care and Coronary Care. The ICU provides intensive care for a wide range of complex and rapidly changing medical, surgical and cardiac disorders. The Intensive Care Team provides expertise for patients requiring advanced respiratory and cardiac support, including hemodynamic monitoring.

  • You will be supported by specialist physicians (Intensivists and Cardiologists), registered nurses, charge nurses, professional practice clinicians, registered respiratory therapists, pharmacists, dietitians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, unit clerks, ward aides, spiritual care staff, ethicists and many other members of a very robust multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive assessments of patients for timely referrals and/or admissions.

This is what you’ll need to do it:

Halton Healthcare endeavors to hire individuals who are competent in their chosen profession and who exemplify our mission, vision and values of accountability, respect and compassion which guide our individual behaviours and attitudes.

  • Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current BCLS certification required at time of hire
  • Current ACLS certification required at time of hire and ongoing
  • Critical Care Certificate required (or in progress)
  • 1 year in the Critical Care setting an asset
  • Must be able to interpret advanced arrhythmias and 12 lead ECG
  • Must be comfortable with equipment i.e. monitors, pumps ECG machines, phlebotomy, invasive pressure monitoring ventilators
  • Must possess excellent decision making & problem solving skills
  • Must have strong leadership & assessment skills
  • Must possess excellent documentation skills
  • Must be able to work well under stress
  • Must have a history of ongoing professional development and be a self-directed learner
  • Knowledge and skill of PRISMA machine an asset
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of this position
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required

Salary: ONA $33.23 to $47.57 per hour
