Hours: Monday – Friday, days - 7.5 hour shifts; may need to work select evening, night or weekend hours for purposes of orientation and education.

Position Profile:
Reporting to the Director of Professional Practice, the Extern Coordinator is an integral member of the healthcare team and will support the development and execution of a comprehensive Clinical Extern Program which provides oversight to Clinical Externs who are clinical students (nursing, OT, PT, RT) working as unregulated care providers at Halton Healthcare.
The Extern Coordinator is responsible to support the implementation of the Clinical Extern Program across multiple units of Oakville, Milton and Georgetown hospitals, by supporting Clinical Externs in their practice and integration into care areas in accordance with college standards, policies and in collaboration with the clinical teams. The Extern Coordinator guides and supports the Clinical Externs in providing high quality, safe care for patients and families, while demonstrating a commitment to excellence in supporting the patient and family experience. The Extern Coordinator serves as a liaison and conduit between Clinical Externs and unit leadership, Professional Practice and Operations.
