JOB TITLE: RN           DEPARTMENT: ER   

 

JOB SUMMARY:

The Staff Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame; care is provided through use of self, the nursing process, environment instrumentation and other health care team members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

                                  

     Education:    Graduate of accredited school of nursing.

                        Current R.N. licensure in the State of

                   Illinois.

 

     Training:     Employee with necessary education will be

                   Expected to exhibit reasonable proficiency

                   Within six months.

    

     Experience: None

    

     Job Knowledge: Knowledge of nursing process for area of

                   Which assigned; knowledge of hospital and

                   Unit policies/procedures, techniques,

                   Equipment, legal parameters, CPR

                   Certification. Safety and Infection control

                   Protocols for patient, visitors, and self.

                   Able to care for all age patients at

                   Competency level (100%)

 

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

     Responsibility For:Performing nursing process-assess, plan,

                   Implement, evaluate. Direct others in

                   Patient care; decision maker, education of

                   Patients/family; technical skills; safety.

                   Inservice education attendance as described

                   In manual of unit

  

     Physical Demands:Lifts weight over 50lbs, as with moving and

                        Liftingpatients and equipment; prolonged

                        Walkingand standing; visual and auditory

                        Acuity; manual dexterity.  

    

     SpecialDemands:Ability to work cooperatively and

                   Independently, to work efficiently under

                   Stress. To promote a positive public image

                   Of the nursing unit and HMC.
