Performs the primary functions of a professional nurse leader in assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating patient care on the Behavioral Health Unit. Supervises the clinical psychiatric nursing program on a 24-hour basis. Is responsible for meeting the Joint Commission Standards of Nursing Practice and the Illinois Department of Public Health Hospital Licensing Act and Requirements; assuming responsibility for direction of patient care; promoting teamwork with physicians, Behavioral Health staff and personnel of other departments, works with staff as a team to assure the Behavioral Health Unit offers the best in mental health care to our patients.
Education: Graduate of accredited school of nursing with current licensure in the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse. BSN. MSN preferred.
Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience in a recognized psychiatric facility. One year supervisor experience should be included in this time.
Training: AHA BLS and SECURE training within 30 days of hire
