Status: Permanent Full-time

As an intermediate Financial Analyst (FA) you are an adaptable, proactive individual with a strong willingness to learn and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. The responsibilities of the FA is to provide financial services to both the Programs and Corporate teams at Grand Challenges Canada.

The Financial Analyst performs a range of professional and detailed accounting activities requiring good knowledge and fundamental applications of accounting theory and principles and practices. Key responsibilities include:
• Performs budget and expense analysis, financial reporting, reconciliations, and monitoring throughout the life-cycle of projects
• Perform spot-check audits of Grand Challenges Canada funded projects
• Reviews grant contracts and compliance with related accounting regulations
• Present recommendations for procedural and work-flow efficiencies in the department
• Other related duties as assigned


• Undergraduate degree in Business Administration or equivalent program, required
• CPA or final stages of CPA designation, required
• A minimum of four (4) years financial accounting experience preferably with grant/project management or non-profit, required
• Highly computer literate and have proficiency with the MS office suite
• Ability to design, analyze, and prepare financial reports
• Strong analytical skills, self-motivated, proactive, and have demonstrated excellence in organizing and prioritizing workflow in a fast paced and high volume environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality required
