Department: NATIONAL EATING DISORDER INFORMATION CENTRE
Reports to: MANAGER      
Hours:  35 HOURS PER WEEK
Status: TEMPORARY FULL-TIME        15 months

JOB SUMMARY:

The COORDINATOR, Education and Outreach coordinates and executes the National Eating Disorder Information Centre's (NEDIC) outreach activities to provide public education and professional development in order to raise awareness for NEDIC and food/weight preoccupation related issues through the engagement of key stakeholders; primary responsibilities include: planning, developing and implementing an engagement strategy to reach educators and youth service organizations; developing relevant materials for outreach; delivering presentations/workshops; coordinating and supporting a team of volunteers to deliver outreach; administering outreach activities; performing cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At minimum, completion of a 2 year community college program in health promotion or recognized equivalent (preference given to individuals with BSW, MSW)
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office programs, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Publisher, Knowledge of WordPress, and strong understanding of social media tools an asset
  • Strong understanding of eating disorder, food & weight preoccupation and body-image and self-esteem issues
  • At minimum, 3 year's practical and related experience
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to travel throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle an asset
