Postdoctoral research position in computational biology and cancer genomics, Princess Margaret Cancer Research Institute

We are seeking an outstanding postdoctoral fellow to lead translational research projects in a highly interdisciplinary environment. Dr. Daniel De Carvalho, PhD and Dr. Scott Bratman, MD PhD are leading studies on liquid biopsies for cancer diagnosis and biomarker discovery. Their landmark studies on circulating cell-free DNA (e.g., Newman/Bratman et al, Nature Medicine 2014; Shen et al, Nature 2018) have led to new ways of examining cancer burden and tumor biology in patients. Ongoing and future work will continue to pursue innovative approaches to liquid biopsy analysis to maximize clinical translation and patient impact.

The successful candidate will have an outstanding research track record during their PhD as evidenced by published high impact work in computational biology, bioinformatics, data science, or related fields with a focus cancer, genetics, and/or epigenetics. Candidates with expertise in genomics/epigenomics/transcriptomics, liquid biopsies, statistical modeling, and AI/machine learning approaches in biomedicine are especially encouraged to apply. Programming experience for prior research and familiarity with high performance computing environments would be considered strong assets. The successful candidate will be expected to have strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
