Pay Range: $24.36 - $30.46 per hour
Hours: 35 per week
Status: Temporary Full-time 1 year contract (potential for renewal)

The Department of Surgery/Urology requires a Clinical Research Coordinator I to work with various disease sites under its oncology clinical trial portfolio. Working under the direction of the Clinical Research Manager, the Clinical Research Coordinator I collaborates with the Investigators and health care team to assume responsibility for the overall management and coordination of Uro-oncology clinical studies.

Responsibilities include recruitment of study participants (e.g. identify and screen potential subjects, obtain informed consent); coordination of patient visits schedules as per study protocol; execution of all aspects of study visit (e.g. recording adverse events and concomitant medications, monitoring safety, administering questionnaires); collection of serial PK samples (venipuncture), vital signs, and ECGs. The Clinical Research Coordinator I performs source documentation and data collection according to UHN policy and ICH-GCP guidelines. Other responsibilities may include planning, implementing, and coordinating aspects of data entry (e.g. in databases or Case Report Forms) and study-related administrative tasks, such as creation and maintenance of investigator study files, ethics submissions, meeting facilitation, etc.


  • Completion of college or other approved Registered Practical Nursing program including practicum experience
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse
  • Has current medication certificate which meets the standards of practice established by the College of Nurses of Ontario where required based on clinical area
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical and/or professional experience, preferred 3 years
  • 1 year of clinical research experience preferred
  • Prior knowledge and experience in venipuncture
  • Experience with patient contact
  • Previous research in oncology, preferred
  • Knowledge of ICH/GCP guidelines
  • Knowledge of IATA shipping regulations and basic laboratory procedures, asset
  • Certification as a Clinical Research Professional, preferred
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills required
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to set priorities and work independently with accuracy in a multitasking environment
  • Able to operate effectively in an interdisciplinary team
  • Strong Proficiency with MS Office software, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • CCRP certification preferred
