The People Strategy and Innovation team at the University Health Network (UHN) is seeking a dynamic Digital HR Systems Analyst to support Business Intelligence initiatives and Learning Management operations.

Who you are

We are looking for a Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to create and manage BI and analytics solutions, and drive data solutions to enhance decision making and boost HR processes. In this role, you should be able to create the underlying infrastructure that: allow us to capitalize on data connections, model our data, and automate HR reporting. As a key function of this role, you will be required to effectively communicate sound business analysis and demonstrate the relationship between data and our HR Strategies.

The digital HR Systems Analyst will be relied upon to enhance our business intelligence systems and provide information to our teams in a way that will empower them to deliver timely and meaningful outcomes. As an ideal candidate you have experience working across multiple stakeholders and be capable of managing multiple priorities and organizational needs. Digital HR / Business Intelligence 

  • Create system solutions that support organizational needs using SQL tools and technologies
  • Design, build and deploy business intelligence HR/People self-service reports and self-sustaining dashboards using Microsoft Power BI
  • Work with UHN’s digital department to design, maintain and support HR’s data analytics platforms
  • Collaborate with the HR and Digital teams to create a fully integrated systems ecosystem
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting for both LMS and Power BI.
  • Develop and update internal technical documentation
  • Train users in accessing and leveraging the dashboards
  • In partnership with digital department, design, develop and maintain Power BI security interfaces to enable clients in controlling and administering access to their systems to ensure compliance with privacy legislation

Learning Management System Support

  • Support the management of daily operational performance of the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Support the LMS specialist in troubleshooting systems issues
  • Provide customer service (e.g. managing inbox, customer requests, etc.)
  • Perform system training to internal stakeholders, when required
  • Provide reports and analytics support
  • Work closely with subject matter experts, content developers, LMS specialist and organizational leaders to provide technical expertise, identify needs and provide continuous improvement initiatives

Your experience and knowledge  

  • Post-secondary degree in Computer sciences/engineering, or equivalent field or experience
  • 1 to 3 years experience with business intelligence or data management
  • 1 to 3 years experience leading programs and projects, including: effective planning, strong attention to detail, ability to build powerful presentation and synthesize information
  • Exposure to Azure data technologies: Azure SQL Database
  • Ability to quickly stage and shape data from data sources into reporting and analytics solutions
  • Deep understanding of database fundamentals, including relational database design, multidimensional database design
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including SharePoint, Excel, and OneNote

Some valuable professional assets    

  • Healthcare / hospital Industry experience is preferred
  • Exposure to Human Resources LMS systems and data analytics considered an asset
  • Experience working in a complex, public sector organization providing professional advice to a range of stakeholders, including working in a unionized environment
  • Knowledge of HR trends, strategic frameworks and technological shifts in HR/healthcare space
  • Experience working with ServiceNow Product portfolio
  • Exposure to API/Web Based integration considered an asset
  • Project Management certification
