With over 500 active projects in over 90 countries, the Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) - Compliance will conduct financial reviews on innovators activities and apply a systematic approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of GCC’s financial compliance processes. The SFA will play a critical part in conducting compliance assessments and audits on innovator projects, in-house and on-site. The SFA will also assist management in drawing conclusions on the adequacy of the organizations’ due diligence processes and funder compliance. As the SFA, you are an adaptable, proactive individual with a strong willingness to learn and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

• Conduct compliance assessments, spot-check audits, innovator information sessions on selected GCC-funded projects
• Develop compliance/audit objectives, scopes, audit programs, and compliance tests in collaboration with the Finance and Programs Teams
• Work with external audit firms who are completing some spot-check audits on GCC’s behalf
• Write formal findings letters based on the final evaluation of the compliance assessments and audits. This involves analyzing, and documenting the strengths, weaknesses, and controls of the reporting entities/projects
• Prepare and review compliance reports and presentations ensuring they are clear, concise and well organized
• Ensure proper execution of compliance/audit procedures and adequate documentation for findings
• Assist in spot-check audit memos for the Audit, Finance, & Risk Committee
• Provide guidance and interpretation of the organization’s funding policies and procedures, both internally and externally
• Support and mentor junior staff
• Travel up to 20%, internationally and domestically (Please note due to COVID, there is no planned travel for 2022)
• Other related duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• Completion of a Canadian recognized accounting designation (CPA)
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience in compliance or audit, experience in not-for-profit preferred
• Strong analytical skills, knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification and resolution of audit issues
• Self-motivated, proactive, and skilled in monitoring and prioritizing audit workflows

Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
