About the Role

As the Marketing Coordinator of Events, you will focus on supporting the marketing execution of some of Canada’s largest peer-to-peer fundraising events, including: The Princess Margaret Ride to Conquer Cancer, The Princess Margaret Walk Conquer Cancer, The Princess Margaret Northern Pass to Conquer Cancer, among others. You will play a critical role in enabling The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation to achieve awareness, participation and fundraising goals of our events.

The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation offers flexible work-from-home arrangements but the successful candidate must be prepared to work at the office as needed up to five days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of marketing plans across a portfolio of events
  • Report to the Marketing Manager, Events, in the execution of all paid, earned and owned media, while providing additional support for the Marketing Director as required.
  • Play a key role in supporting the flawless project management across various campaigns and channels, including:
    • Support the email communications for Events, including working closely with Creative Services and Business Intelligence on list segmentation, creative development, testing/QA, deployment and analytics
    • Cataloguing and trafficking of paid media creative assets
    • Support the development, maintenance and reporting of Events websites
    • Contribute to social media content and distribution and work closely with the Community Manager who will also handle community management for select events
    • Prepare and maintain an updated integrated communications calendar and be prepared to recommend scheduling changes based on marketing sales conditions and priorities
    • Support the Events Management teams by coordinating creative assets, content and facilitating internal execution and approvals as required
  • Prepare and present marketing briefs to the Creatives Services team as needed to support various communications initiatives.
  • Manage campaign tracking, status reports and work back schedules
  • Manage the weekly and ad-hoc reporting on all marketing communications activities including email and Google Analytics.
  • Attend and provide marketing support at our Events, which requires some weekends and evenings, and occasional local travel.

 Skills & Qualifications

  • You must have at least 2 years of experience working in a marketing function with demonstrated project management skills
  • Experience with development and detailed oversight of work back schedules, management of status reports, budget tracking, etc.
  • Experience in email and web communications development, production and reporting.
  • Experience in social media communications, development, execution, and reporting
  • Experience using Hootsuite, Meltwater, Google Analytics, MailChimp, web CMS (or similar products), and CRM tools a strong asset
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint.
  • A university degree or college diploma (in marketing or advertising preferred)
  • Agency or client-side B2C marketing experience, with demonstrated client service experience
  • Proactive, engaged self-starter who is driven to learn, contribute ideas, improve processes, and who works collaboratively while also being comfortable initiating projects and working autonomously.
